I've had a pretty shitty last couple of years. My last couple of years have been in and out of hospitals with Migraines, nervous breakdowns, epileptic attacks, and a combination of all this has made me a disabled son-of-a-bitch.
Almost 10 days ago, someone rear-ended my wife's car and the suspension, axle, and basic frame of the car was damaged too much and thus the car was wrecked. Incidentally, I, originally, learned to drive four years ago. I crashed my first car four months later at 11 at night on the highway when a random piece of tire was blown by the wind from the other side of the highway and I swerved to avoid it and thus wrecked that car.
8 months later, I wrecked my second car when I was running late to my first day of work and took a highway curve too fast in the rain, hydroplaned, spun couple of times and crashed into the barrier.
My epilepsy made it so I couldn't crash anymore cars and I stopped driving for the sake of not passing out behind the wheel. My wife crashed her first car a couple months after that when she was driving me back to my first day of work after several months of being disabled.
When I first became sick, my company decided not to downsize by cutting away short-term disability instead. I missed the cut-off date by one day. So I didn't get paid for 6 months and had to instead pay my own employer money so that i could have medical insurance.
Finally after going back to work and then being fired after two months, we ended up going through the rest of our savings. We had to move across the country from Texas to NJ after we couldn't support ourselves anymore. We moved in with my parents.
We were finally getting our lives back together when my mother had a quadruple bypass last february and we decided to return the favor by staying at home (rather than moving out finally) and taking care of my mom.
I had a nervous breakdown a few months ago and was inside the nuthouse for a month. I was just released from daily behavioral therapy just last month.
My 4-year-old daughter was diagnosed with 8 cavities and a possible root canal last friday. I mean this is mostly because we are shitty parents, apparently.
ALso, my wife just caused a three-car pileup. I think she's okay. My daughter was in the car. I haven't heard back from them yet.
But, MOTHERFUCKER, I can't be having this.

I haven't seen a dentist since. I have felt no pain, except sensitivity when eating on one side, and the occasional throbbing.
I say this only because, if the choice is between feeding her or taking her to the dentist... they are baby teeth, just get her to learn to brush and floss, and maybe the teeth can all go away?
Definitely not a dentist though, merely an anecdote.

The U.S. isn't a democracy and if you think it is, you are a rube.DSMatticus wrote:Kaelik gonna kaelik. Whatcha gonna do?
That's libertarians for you - anarchists who want police protection from their slaves.
I'm sorry, Cynic.

I think that's only the front eight, and it seems to me that those are harder to get cavities in.Kaelik wrote:they are baby teeth, just get her to learn to brush and floss, and maybe the teeth can all go away?
My son makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too.

Thank you very much for sharing.
I really needed to see something like this today to help put my issues into a more proper perspective.
And you have my well wishes for things to get better soon.

"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."
